The equipment necessary for the casual rider consists of a helmet and a headlight if there's a chance of biking at night, and it about it. Everything else is gravy.

The can not be said for the mountain biker. To have a safe and enjoyable driving, mountain biking needs a little speed.

Even more than for the casual cyclist, a helmet is a must. And take care to choose a helmet. A helmet is too tight useless, so make sure it fits your head securely.

A good pair of gloves serve two purposes. You get a better grip on the handlebars with your gloves, and of course if you take a spill on your hands from tearing.

Clothes
What to wear? Most people go mountain biking in summer, so they wear shorts, t-shirts and tennis shoes. If they are such hardy, they will on the shirts and trousers for the colder months.

But it is also a good idea to wear padding on knees and elbows. The thing about cycling Mountain is that it's not a question of if you fall, but when. So it is only common sense to wear padding and prevent serious injury. If you're a dedicated runner you do not want to spend time off the bike recovering from a broken arm when a little common sense you could avoid the problem.

Shoes
Do not forget the shoes! These days shoes are specially designed for every sport under the sun and mountain biking is no different. As a mountain biker, you want to make sure that your feet remain on the pedals, and you want shoes that are comfortable and well.

Accessories
A new trend in mountain biking is riding in the night. Well, if you drive at night, you've learned to have light! If you go over long distances, you'll want to have any Hydropack, so you can drink liquids on the go.

You can browse the web for clothes and accessories, but to be sure of a good fit, it is always preferable to give as much business as possible to your local bike shop.

The Bike
You have the speed, you need the bike now.

And it is not cycling your ancestor. Technology has improved the design of bicycles in all directions, and quality bikes are offered at prices affordable price – but you still have to choose one that suits you.

The best thing to do when choosing a bike is to talk with owners different types of bikes – maybe even take a ride on them, you can compare the differences in meaning seat, shocks, handling, and more importantly, weight. Do not talk to one person, get a good representation of views.

If you are going to be a mountain bike competition – with small roles in races – you'll need of a more expensive bike, of course, one with a titanium frame and all the bells and whistles. There are two main types of mountain bikes: the semi-rigid, which has a frame with no rear suspension and Softail, which has a frame with a small amount of rear suspension. The most comfortable bike may be a full or 'dual' suspension – suspension front fork and rear shock.

The type of bike you get also depends on the type of riding you'll want to do: cross-country, enduro, freeride, downhill, etc. Again, you'll want to talk with other drivers to see which is the best type of bike for the particular type of riding you want to do.
