Bicycle Bits & Pieces

There are a lot of terminology to learn if you're an avid mountain bike. These enthusiasts have a language all their own, what with "plants face, boing-boing Drillium and wild pig.

However, there is also the terminology that cycling remains the same regardless of the age of the user, and that the terms used for parts of the bike. And its important to know these things too.

1. The axis of Bracket – A circular hole in the bottom frame of the bike used to attach the pedals.

2. Brake cable – The cable connects the brake lever the brake mechanism.

3. Levers – Lever on the handlebar, which activates the brakes. The left lever controls the front brake controls to the right of the brake lever back.

4. – The whole chain of links circular metal that transfers the power of the ring of the chain to the gear. There are two types of bicycle chains: ring and bushingless.

5. Plateau – A portion of the pedal. A pinion or toothed wheel attached to the handle and holds the chain. The bike can have two to three trays.

6. Crank – A portion of the pedal. The lever or "arm" that connects the pedal the pedals.

7. Derailleur – The mechanism that moves the chain from one plateau to another inorder to change gears.

8. Down tube – A portion of the frame. The tube that goes diagonal tube (supporting the handlebars) to the bottom bracket shell. Above is the top tube that runs from Head Tube the seat.

9. Frontal – A suspension system on the front fork that allows the bike to absorb shocks without transmitting them to the rider.

10. Handlebar – The horizontal bar at the front of the bike that is used to steer and containing the shifters and break levers and other items a cyclist wishes to have on hand.

11. Helmet – The device that houses the bearings that allows the handlebars and Front Wheel to rotate the frame a bicycle. There are two types of helmet, threading and threading.

12. Hub – The central part of the Bicycle Wheel, comprising an axle and bearings ball to allow the wheel to move easily. In addition, the radiation from the hub to the rim of bike.

13. A pulley-block is slack chain to keep it tight at all times.

14. Nipple – Small bottles screw into the rim of bike that set a radius to the rim.

15. Pedal – A metal bar runs on which to place your foot to propel the bicycle. The pedal is attached to the crank. Pedals can be easy or come attached with clips in which to put your shoes to increase leverage.

16. Rear Shocks – On a dual suspension bike, the device that absorbs shocks at the rear tire.

17. Rim – The metal ring on which the bicycle tire is mounted, and which breaks the application of their strength. Interior rim holds the rays that give force to the tire.

18. Saddle – Also called the office. Something to sit!

19. Stem Saddle – The tubular support when the saddle is connected. The tube is then placed in the seat tube, and can be raised or lowered depending on the rider.

20. Skewer – A metal rod that connects the wheel to the chassis of the bicycle. At one end is a knob to keep the skewers on the other is the release mechanism, which is secured either by a "fast" Press switch, or with bolts.

21. Spindle – A portion of the housing Bracket. The free rotating axle that the crank arms attach.

22. Spokes – The thick son joining the hub to the rim. The amount of radiation to determine how strong the tire will be. Rays can also be arranged in different patterns, affecting the torsional forces and brakes.

23. – To stop the metal piece that connects the handlebars to the steerer.

24. Wheel hub – See hub.
